Job summary

Emilio Aguinaldo Educational Corporation is seeking a Library Services Librarian to oversee the smooth delivery of library services, maintain order and filing, and organize the collection under the supervision of the Head of the Library Department. The role requires a degree in Library Science, preferably with MLIS/MSLIS, and active librarian registration.

One year of relevant experience is preferred, though fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; familiarity with databases and information

About the role

Under the supervision of the Head of the Library Department, oversees the smooth delivery of services, the maintenance of the cleanliness and orderliness, the over-all filing and organization of the records and the collection in the section/unit assignment.

Key responsibilities

• Cataloguing and classification of knowledge or sources of information into relevant organized collections and creation of local databases for speedy access, retrieval or delivery information

• Establishment of library system and procedures; dissemination of information; rendering of information, reference, and research assistance; archiving and education of user

• Rendering of services involving technical knowledge/expertise in abstracting, indexing, cataloguing and classifying or the preparation of bibliographies, subject authority lists, Thesauri, and union catalogues/lists

• Teaching, lecturing and conducting library orientation on library facilities, resources and services

• Rendering of reader's assistance and services in borrowing library materials

About you

• A degree in Library Science

• Preferably with Master's degree (MLIS/MSLIS)

• Must be a Registered Librarian

• 1 year of relevant experience (fresh graduates are still encouraged to apply)

• Experience using computers and working with electronic databases

• Familiarity with information management systems

• Strong organizational skills
