Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and analyze applicable laws and jurisprudence on issues concerning the concession of the company. Prepare legal opinions and/or memoranda. Provide expert and strategic legal advice to management.
- Draft necessary pleadings concerning toll rate adjustments. Draft letters to various government offices in relation to the concession. Ensure that the key issues and needs of the company are addressed.
- Represent the Company: attend meetings with government offices to advocate on behalf of the company; collaborate with other organizations and networks where appropriate; liaise with other legal services.
- Contract Drafting and Review: draft and/or review contracts and agreements; monitor legal obligations under agreements to ensure compliance; prepare drafts for contracts and/or amendments; review proposed contracts to ensure the interests of the company are well-protected; compare and suggest revisions to different contracts entered into by the company.
- Others: evaluate inputs and impacts of decisions or courses of action; ensure compliance with laws, internal policies and guidelines; identify potential legal and regulatory issues that may pose risks and mitigate liability; perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Law or a closely related field.
- Specialized knowledge: strong knowledge and understanding of Philippine laws and jurisprudence.
- Skills: excellent judgment and analytical skills; excellent time management; strong prioritization and organizational skills; exceptional oral and written communication; ability to draft high-value legal documents clearly, concisely, and unambiguously; presentation skills; strong negotiation skills in mergers and acquisitions, tender bidding, and contract negotiations; technical skills including experience with developing, maintaining, and revising management procedures; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Abilities: capable of resolving escalated issues, multi-tasking, meeting tight deadlines; ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures; ability to work as part of a team or independently.
- Other characteristics: strong attention to detail; proactive problem solving; maintains professionalism; trustworthy; able to work with minimal supervision.
- Professional Certification (Licenses needed): Philippine Bar Exam Passer.
- Experience: four to five years in a corporate legal role within a fast-paced environment; supervisory experience preferred; successful experience leading negotiations on complex, high-value contracts; litigation experience is an advantage.
- Willing to be assigned in Balintawak, Caloocan City, North Edsa, Quezon City or Ortigas.
