Job summary

SM Development Corporation, located in Pasay, Metro Manila, seeks a capable lawyer to provide legal support to the Legal Affairs and Risk Management Department. You will assist in litigation, contract review, regulatory compliance, and other legal matters essential to the Company’s operations and projects.

You will conduct legal research, draft documents, monitor deadlines, and coordinate with courts, regulators, and external counsel to ensure timely, compliant delivery of services.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior lawyers in handling litigation, administrative, regulatory, and other legal matters involving the Company and its affiliates.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda, pleadings, opinions, contracts, and other legal documents.
• Review, draft, and revise contracts, agreements, notices, legal correspondence, and other legal instruments.
• Monitor case deadlines, court hearings, regulatory proceedings, and filing requirements to ensure timely compliance with legal and procedural obligations.
• Coordinate with courts, government agencies, external counsel, and other stakeholders on legal and regulatory matters.
• Assist in ensuring the Company's compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory reporting requirements, including AMLA, Data Privacy, and other statutory obligations.
• Provide legal advice and support to business units on routine legal, contractual, and regulatory concerns.
• Participate in meetings, negotiations, and case conferences, and assist in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating legal and business risks.
• Maintain and organize legal records, case files, and litigation databases to support efficient case management.
• Perform such other legal duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head of the Litigation and Legal Services Section or senior members of the Legal Affairs and Risk Management Department.

JOB SUMMARY

Provides legal support to the Legal Affairs and Risk Management Department by assisting in the handling of litigation, regulatory compliance, contract review, and other legal matters of the Company. Under the supervision of the Head of the Litigation and Legal Services Section, the Lawyer conducts legal research, prepares legal documents, attends hearings and conferences, and assists in managing case files to ensure the timely and effective delivery of legal support for the Company's operations and projects.
