Job description

1. Strategic Partnership & Learning Intake

  • Serve as a performance consultant and strategic advisor to assigned business units.
  • Stay current on business priorities and proactively recommend aligned learning solutions.
  • Educate business partners on when and how learning interventions add value.
  • Conduct in-depth needs assessments and root cause analyses to validate learning requests.
  • Triage and scope incoming requests, communicating rationale for out-of-scope items and recommending alternatives.
  • Collaborate with:
    • Design & Facilitation Leads on solution development and capacity planning.
    • Learning Project Managers to manage mid-to-large scale initiatives.
    • Community Engagement Consultant to embed retention strategies.
    • Support Coordinator for scheduling and reporting logistics.
  • Host regular update meetings with business partners to share progress and timelines.
  • Evaluate learning effectiveness and attribution to business results using multi-level evaluation models.
  • Analyze operational and learning metrics to identify trends and inform decision-making.
  • Recommend adjustments to learning programs based on post-delivery engagement and performance data.
  • Participate in operational meetings to assess learning impact and communicate findings.
  • Identify and share best practices across L&D and business units.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to streamline processes and enhance service delivery.
  • Coordinate work distribution across the learning team to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Adjust plans and resources in response to shifting priorities or change requests.
  • Provide backup support for facilitation or producer roles as needed.
  • Act as deputy for the Learning Manager when required.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a learning and development role.
  • Deep understanding of learning strategies, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify actionable insights.
  • Customer-obsessed mindset with strong relationship-building and influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication and change management capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize, adapt, and thrive in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Agile methodologies or certification
  • Lean/Six Sigma knowledge
  • Knowledge of John Hancock’s business, products, or services
