Job summary

OpsWerks in the Philippines seeks a Lead Systems & Network Engineer to own and scale our infrastructure across cloud, network, identity, and collaboration platforms. You’ll lead L3 support, drive reliability, and implement automation to prevent incidents, while partnering with internal teams to meet strategic objectives.

The role requires designing and optimizing multi-site networks, administering AWS/Azure, and ensuring secure identity access with Entra ID.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in systems, network, or infrastructure engineering in enterprise or mid-scale environments.
• Experience with AWS and Microsoft Azure plus hybrid on-premise systems.
• Ability to design, troubleshoot, and automate infrastructure; strong documentation habit.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Systems & Network Engineer to take full ownership of the infrastructure supporting our office environments and internal systems. This is a senior technical role responsible for ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across cloud, network, identity, and collaboration platforms.

You will not only maintain systems—you will define how they operate, evolve, and scale.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Leadership & L3 Support

• Act as the highest escalation point for infrastructure, cloud, SaaS, and internal system issues

• Perform advanced troubleshooting, log analysis, and root cause investigations

• Implement permanent fixes and automation to eliminate recurring incidents

Network Engineering & Architecture

• Design, manage, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure (multi-ISP, VPN routing, wireless coverage)

• Administer pfSense/Netgate firewalls and Cisco switching environments

• Ensure high availability, performance, and secure connectivity across all sites

Cloud & Systems Operations

• Support and optimize AWS and Microsoft Azure environments

• Manage Linux and macOS systems across production and office infrastructure

• Improve system reliability through monitoring, automation, and standardization

Identity, Security & Microsoft 365

• Administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including SSO and Conditional Access policies

• Design secure identity and access management frameworks

• Lead the structuring and optimization of Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online environments

DevOps & Engineering Collaboration

• Work closely with development teams to resolve environment and deployment issues

• Improve CI/CD workflows and deployment reliability

• Ensure smooth integration between infrastructure and application delivery pipelines

Operational Excellence & Documentation

• Own and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and technical documentation

• Drive infrastructure standardization and operational scalability

• Improve SLA performance through automation and proactive engineering

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Serve as technical liaison with third‑party vendors and service providers

• Escalate and resolve complex infrastructure issues effectively

• Communicate technical solutions clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders

• Experienced in analyzing logs, diagnosing issues, and implementing permanent fixes

• A reliable senior engineer with 3–5+ years of experience in systems, network, or infrastructure engineering in enterprise or mid‑scale environments
