Job summary

EPAM Systems invites a Lead Security Engineer to join our team, bridging legal/compliance obligations with hands-on engineering to drive audit-ready controls across AWS/Azure Gov, FedRAMP and HIPAA programs.

You will convert regulatory text into Azure DevOps backlog items, manage evidence requests, run test cases, and collaborate with ISRM, Privacy, Legal, SRE, and cloud teams to deliver secure, compliant platforms.

Qualifications

5+ years of security/privacy compliance, GRC, or compliance engineering.
At least 1 year of experience leading and managing teams.
Knowledge of HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53 controls.
Ability to map compliance text to engineering backlog with estimates.
Cloud security experience: IAM/RBAC, encryption, audit logging.
Excellent English communication (B2+).

Responsibilities

Transform regulatory/audit language into Azure DevOps backlog items with clear acceptance criteria.
Monitor delivery progress and keep backlog organized across compliance initiatives.
Develop and run test cases to verify controls operate as intended and document results.
Manage audit support lifecycle and evidence requests with third-party auditors.
Create automation, dashboards, and pipelines to simplify future audits.
Collaborate with ISRM, Privacy, Legal, SRE and cloud teams.
