Job summary

Edwise International in Mumbai is seeking a hands-on Lead Engineer to shape our software delivery and systems.

You will lead a small team, set review and testing standards, and own reliability and tooling. You will map processes from counselling to follow-up, integrate with NetMind and Acomodo surfaces, and build high-leverage internal tools to speed employees and partner interactions.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years building and shipping software used by real users.
• Experience mentoring or leading at least one developer.
• Proficient with AI-assisted development (Claude, Cursur, Lovable).
• Comfortable across stack: frontend, APIs, databases (Postgres/Supabase), deployment.
• Experience integrating with external systems (CRMs, spreadsheets, third-party APIs, WhatsApp).
• Able to explain a technical decision to a non-technical reader.

• Lead data-driven workflow improvements for counselling, admissions, documentation and follow-up.

Job description

• Map how counselling, admissions, documentation and follow-up work.
• Coordinate with the department head and founder, agree on business metric before code is written.
• Enquiry-to-enrolment conversion, counsellor hours per student, application turnaround time, documentation error rate.
• Build it into the systems the team already uses, run it at real volume

Lead the engineering team

• Manage three people: Saloni, one intern, and one junior engineer still to be hired.
• Set the standards for how we ship — what gets reviewed, what gets tested, what never reaches production unchecked.
• Your team handles day-to-day reliability and tooling; you own whether it holds up.

Own the systems you build

• You also integrate with existing builds: NetMind (Contacts tool – Lovable, Supabase, MCP server wired into Claude) and the Acomodo surfaces – acomodomap.com, Connect and the Supply Site.
• These are used in live outreach and partner conversations.

Build tools that compound

• Small, high-leverage internal tools that make employees measurably faster – counsellor dashboards, document chasing, branch reporting, lease and availability tracking.

W hat we are looking for

• 2-4 years building and shipping software that real users depend on.
• Experience mentoring or leading at least one other developer.
• Genuinely fast with AI-assisted development (Claude, Cursur, Lovable or equivalent) and able to read, debug and fix what comes out of it.
• Comfortable across that stack: front end, API’s, databases (Postgres / Supabase), deployment.
• Have integrated with systems you did not build – CRMs, spreadsheets, third-party APIs, processes held together by Whatsapp.
• Willing to study existing workflow before proposing anything.
• Able to explain a technical decision in one page to a non-technical reader.

Great to have

• Education, study-abroad, or another high-volume, document-heavy, operations business.
• Prior work embedded withy business or operations teams rather than inside a product org.
• MCP servers and agentic tooling.
• Exposure to GDPR or UK/EU data handling.
