Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Firmware Engineer to develop high‑performance controller firmware for memory systems. You will evaluate, build, bench test, debug and analyze failures in firmware for new memory controllers and SSDs.

You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers, triage issues, file bug reports and assist in optimizing performance, reducing power, latency and SoC complexity across target sectors.

Qualifications

• 6-15 years in Embedded Firmware/SSD is a strong plus.
• Strong firmware design and debugging using assembly and C.
• Knowledge of NAND flash, FTL, wear leveling and garbage collection.
• Familiarity with SATA, SAS and NVMe interfaces.
• Experience configuring ASIC register settings in SoC firmware environments.
• Ability to identify performance-critical algorithms and optimize them.
• Proficiency with ARM dev tools and Eclipse IDE.
• Ability to scope and estimate development effort.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic to advanced knowledge of digital hardware design is a plus.
• Experience with test equipment and AI-assisted engineering tools.
