Job summary

GCash, the Philippines' leading FinTech, is seeking a data engineering specialist to design and develop data pipelines that feed the data warehouse. You will ensure data quality, optimize pipelines, and align with the tribe's data ingestion demands.

Ideal candidates have 4–6 years in IT delivery, strong SQL and ETL skills, and hands-on experience with Big Data tools and cloud environments such as AWS Glue, Spark, Databricks, and Kafka.

Qualifications

• Graduate of IT-related courses such as BS Computer Science or Information Technology.
• 4–6 years of IT project delivery or data development in Data Warehousing/BI.
• Strong SQL and ETL development experience.
• Experience with Big Data tech and cloud environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop data pipelines to ingest source data into the data warehouse.
• Support and optimize pipelines to meet downstream SLAs.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and deliver data ingestion work for the data warehouse.
• Ensure data quality and adherence to engineering standards across deployments.

Who you’ll be working with

If you have a strong background in IT, computer science, or software engineering, and are analytical, technologically savvy, solutions and process-focused, then the Technology & Operations team may be for you!

You will be responsible for the following: Design and develop data pipelines that will ingest the data from the respective source systems into the data warehouse. Support and optimize existing data pipelines to ensure that the downstream SLAs are met. Responsible in attending agile ceremonies as part of the Agile Tribe set-up and delivering the different demands of the Tribe related to data ingestions to the data warehouse platform. Ensures data quality within the data warehouse tables. Ensures the data engineering standards and practices are followed like code version history, readability, functionality, extendibility, test runs, deployments, and post deployment support

We’re looking for

Graduate of any IT related courses like BS Computer Science, Information Technology or the likes. With 4-6 years of experience in IT project delivery or data development delivery particularly in Data Warehousing or Business Intelligence. Strong SQL and ETL development experience, preferably related to Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, or other Data Delivery projects. Experience in Big Data, Hadoop, EMR, Hive, and cloud environments is a plus. Proficiency in Python, R, Java, Scala is a plus. Proficiency in data modeling, data integrations, data quality, and data architecture is a plus.
