Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead Azure DevOps Engineer to shape Azure DevOps-driven delivery within our Cloud Center of Excellence. You will design pipelines, implement IaC, and automate operations across IaaS/PaaS to support internal clients from onboarding through production.

The role emphasizes strong engineering, scripting, and collaboration in a global, multi-national environment with a focus on reliability, security, and cost awareness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience configuring and operating IaaS and PaaS solutions.
• Strong networking fundamentals incl. IP subnetting, NSGs, DNS, Azure Firewall.
• Hands-on proficiency with Azure DevOps for automated deployments.
• Solid engineering and coding skills in Agile environments.
• Deep understanding of SRE concepts to maximize automation and scale.
• Familiarity with Azure tooling and cost/security-conscious design.
• Excellent documentation and communication, ability to tailor language.
• Client-focused with ability to work independently.
• Team collaboration and continuous improvement mindset.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Lead Azure DevOps Engineer

We are building a Lead Azure DevOps Engineer role in our Cloud Center of Excellence to deliver a resilient, automated Azure platform for safe, scalable cloud growth. You will shape Azure DevOps-driven delivery, Infrastructure-as-Code, and operations across IaaS/PaaS services while supporting internal clients end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software delivery pipelines on the Microsoft Azure platform
• Deploy, monitor, and operate cloud services to maintain reliability and performance
• Build and deploy resources using Infrastructure-as-Code principles
• Develop automation solutions leveraging Azure DevOps
• Execute operational work using cloud native tools such as Log Analytics, Azure Monitor, and Azure Security Center
• Maintain and refresh documentation, including product descriptions and operational procedures, on the CCoE wiki
• Own development and operational activities as part of a multidisciplinary DevOps team
• Support internal customers throughout the onboarding process and beyond
• Ensure the security posture of internal customers within the environment
• Run tasks related to network platform operations

Requirements

• Proven experience (5+ years) configuring and operating IaaS and PaaS solutions, including Virtual Machines, WebApp, Database services, Kubernetes, Data Lake, and Databricks
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and technologies such as IP subnetting, Network Security Groups, routing, Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute, load balancer, and DNS
• Hands‑on proficiency with Azure DevOps to run automated deployment processes
• Solid engineering and coding skills applied within agile methodologies
• Deep understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts to maximize automation, reduce waste, and increase scale
• Practical familiarity with Azure cloud native tooling and cost/security‑conscious solution design
• Excellent documentation, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor language to the audience
• Client‑focused mindset with the ability to deliver outcomes independently and with limited supervision
• Continuous improvement approach and strong collaboration habits within a team
• English proficiency at B2 (Upper-Intermediate) level or higher

Nice to have

• Familiarity with PowerShell, ARM/Bicep, and YAML for build task automation
• Knowledge of Terraform and C# for infrastructure automation
