Job summary

Grant Thornton Ireland is seeking an experienced Audit Engagement Manager to lead and manage external audits from planning to completion. You will ensure on-time delivery and adherence to budgets while supervising junior staff.

You will oversee audit plans, risk assessments, and programs tailored to clients, building strong client relationships and serving as the main point of contact for audit matters. The role emphasizes technical excellence and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CPA with professional certification.
• 7+ years in external audits with 4+ years in a managerial role.
• Strong IFRS and GAAP knowledge (Irish/UK GAAP) and ISAs.
• Experience in Big 4 is advantageous but not required.
• Excellent staff mentoring and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit engagements from planning to completion, ensuring on-time delivery and budget.
• Oversee the preparation of audit plans, risk assessments, and audit programs tailored to each client’s needs.
• Supervise and mentor audit staff to ensure high quality work and professional growth.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the main audit contact.
• Ensure engagements comply with standards, regulatory requirements and QC procedures.
• Identify opportunities for additional services and business development with clients.
