Job summary

Arcadis, a global leader in sustainable design, engineering and consultancy, is seeking an Irrigation Engineer/Designer II to join our Placemaking team in Manila. You will contribute to landscape, public realm, urban development and infrastructure projects across global markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in agricultural, irrigation, civil engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years designing, constructing or supervising landscape and irrigation projects.
• Experience with irrigation design software such as Irrigation FX, WaterCAD, IrriCAD is desirable.
• Professional Engineering registration is an advantage but not required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; Civil 3D/Revit preferred.
• Strong English communication and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automatic irrigation systems for landscape projects.
• Prepare irrigation layouts, plans, calculations, specs and reports.
• Develop irrigation central control systems and field wiring layouts.
• Perform hydraulic analyses and irrigation demand calculations.
• Prepare irrigation design criteria and technical documentation.
• Produce standard irrigation details and construction documents.
• Prepare irrigation material and equipment specifications.
• Support contractor submittal reviews, RFIs and technical assessments.
• Coordinate with landscape architects and project team leads.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary coordination meetings and design reviews.

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Irrigation Engineer / Designer II to join our growing Placemaking team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a wide variety of landscape, public realm, urban development, and infrastructure projects across global markets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, design, and delivery of irrigation systems, working closely with Landscape Architecture and multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative, sustainable, and fully coordinated design solutions.

Role accountabilities:

Technical Responsibilities

• Design and develop automatic irrigation systems for landscape projects.
• Prepare irrigation layouts, plans, calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
• Develop irrigation central control systems and field control networks, field wiring and control systems layout
• Perform hydraulic analyses and irrigation demand calculations.
• Prepare irrigation design criteria and technical documentation.
• Produce standard irrigation details and construction documents.
• Prepare irrigation material and equipment specifications.
• Support contractor submittal reviews, proposal evaluations, RFIs, and technical assessments.

Project Delivery and Team Collaboration

• Coordinate with landscape architects and project team lead.
• Produce detailed design and construction packages in accordance with project requirements.
• Ensure quality assurance and compliance with applicable standards and client requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and design support to CAD Designers and Drafters.
• Participate in interdisciplinary coordination meetings and design reviews.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of irrigation design standards, workflows, and best practices.
• Support other engineering and project delivery activities as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the design, construction, and/or supervision of landscape and irrigation projects.
• Experience with irrigation design software such as Irrigation F/X, Bentley WaterCAD, IrriCAD, or similar platforms is highly desirable.
• Professional Engineering registration or licensure is an advantage but is not required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), and other engineering-related software.
• Working knowledge of Civil 3D and Revit is preferred. If do not have any experience, willing to be trained in-house.
• Strong understanding of irrigation design principles, hydraulic calculations, and industry standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams.
