Qualifications

• Completion of a recognised Laboratory Technician certification programme.
• Experience in a clinical or medical laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

About the role

MJK MEDICAL AND DIAGNOSTIC CLINIC is seeking a skilled and dedicated Laboratory Technician to join our healthcare operations team. This is a full-time position based in Ermita, Manila City, Metro Manila. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our medical services by conducting accurate laboratory tests and analyses that directly impact patient care and health outcomes. This position is essential to maintaining the highest standards of diagnostic excellence within our organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of laboratory tests and analyses including haematology, chemistry, microbiology and serology procedures with precision and accuracy

• Prepare and examine patient specimens following established laboratory protocols and safety procedures

• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring all instruments are properly calibrated and functioning correctly

• Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory standards

• Follow strict quality control procedures to ensure reliable and valid test results

• Adhere to all biosafety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe laboratory environment

• Maintain detailed records of all laboratory activities and maintain confidentiality of patient information

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to support diagnostic and treatment decisions

• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with laboratory best practices

What we're looking for

• Completion of a recognised Laboratory Technician certification programme

• Proven experience working in a clinical or medical laboratory setting

• Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, procedures and quality assurance practices

• Proficiency in operating and maintaining common laboratory equipment and analysers

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately

• Strong understanding of biosafety protocols and infection control measures

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy

• College graduate of 4 years of medical related background

• Competence in using laboratory information systems and basic computer applications

• Certification in phlebotomy or bloodbank procedures (preferred)

• Multilingual abilities with fluency in English and Filipino (advantageous)
