Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen environment or as a kitchen assistant.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Good physical fitness to stand and lift.
• Excellent attention to detail and consistency in prep.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Reliability and punctuality.
• Willingness to learn from senior staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients according to recipes and standards.
• Assist with food preparation, including cutting, chopping, and marinating.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace and storage areas.
• Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to ensure hygiene.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment (ovens, grills, fryers, prep stations).
• Support the cooking team during service and respond to changing demands.
• Dispose of waste and maintain a sanitised work environment.
• Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely meals.
