Job summary

Avensys Consulting is seeking a Junior Threat Analyst to join a global cybersecurity and threat intelligence team. You will research threats, perform OSINT investigations, and translate findings into concise intelligence for stakeholders.

You will work with teams across the Philippines, Australia, the UK, and the US, developing your skills in MITRE ATT&CK, Diamond Model, and cyber threat reporting while supporting proactive defense efforts.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of professional experience in cybersecurity, technical research, or technical writing.
• Strong interest in Cyber Threat Intelligence and cybersecurity research.
• Familiarity with OSINT techniques and publicly available intelligence sources.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) research to identify emerging threats, actors, vulnerabilities, and related developments.

Job description

We are looking for a Junior Threat Analyst to join a global cybersecurity and threat intelligence team supporting the research, analysis, and reporting of emerging cyber threats.

This role is ideal for an early-career cybersecurity professional with a strong interest in Threat Intelligence, OSINT, cybersecurity research, and analytical writing. You will research publicly available information, investigate cyber threats and threat actors, and transform your findings into clear, concise, and actionable intelligence.

You will collaborate with global teams across the Philippines, Australia, the UK, and the US, gaining valuable exposure to real-world threat intelligence operations and the evolving global cyber threat landscape.

What You'll Do

• Conduct Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) research to identify and investigate emerging cyber threats, threat actors, vulnerabilities, malware, ransomware, phishing campaigns, and related security developments.
• Research and analyze information from publicly available sources, threat intelligence feeds, security advisories, news, and other relevant intelligence sources.
• Support the analysis and profiling of threat actors, tactics, techniques, and emerging attack patterns.
• Apply cybersecurity frameworks and analytical methodologies such as MITRE ATT&CK and the Diamond Model.
• Research, validate, and cross-reference information from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and relevance.
• Prepare clear and concise analyst notes, threat intelligence reports, research summaries, and intelligence updates.
• Identify relevant indicators, trends, vulnerabilities, and potential security implications.
• Support the development of actionable intelligence for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with global cybersecurity and intelligence teams across different regions and time zones.
• Stay informed about emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, threat actors, attack techniques, and industry developments.
• Contribute to research projects, ad hoc intelligence requests, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• At least 6 months of professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Cybersecurity
• Technical Research
• Technical Writing
• Other research- or analysis-focused roles
• Strong interest in Cyber Threat Intelligence and cybersecurity research.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including phishing, malware, ransomware, vulnerabilities, threat actors, and common attack techniques.
• Familiarity with OSINT techniques and publicly available intelligence sources.
• Ability to research information from multiple sources and identify relevant and credible findings.
• Strong analytical, research, and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to produce clear, concise, and well-structured written analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple research tasks and work within defined timelines.
• Comfortable collaborating with global and cross‑functional teams.
