Job summary

QBE Group Shared Services Centre is seeking an Automation QA Engineer in Cebu City to implement automated testing solutions and improve testing practices across applications. You will conduct functional testing, analyze defects, and collaborate across teams to drive quality in software delivery.

The role requires a tertiary degree or equivalent, plus knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodology, and insurance industry context. Involvement in continuous improvement and risk-aware delivery is expected.

Qualifications

• Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Preferred: IT, CS, or CE degree.
• Background knowledge in Automation Testing, SDLC, Agile Methodology, and Insurance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional application testing to achieve business objectives and expected results for application implementation.
• Ensure delivery of business realisation benefits through application features aligned to testing procedures.
• Analyse defects and test results to identify areas of concern within software.
• Contribute input to identify areas of improvement in application development.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities for test automation and integration practices.
• Perform scheduled and periodic testing as specified from project implementations and business needs.
• Continuously evaluate operational risks and improvement opportunities, applying sound judgment to assess impacts and taking timely actions to prevent risks by integrating risk thinking into daily decisions and delivery behaviours against plans by agreed dates.

The purpose of this role is to implement automated and functional application testing solutions to improve and enhance systems and applications for future infrastructure and architecture generations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional application testing to achieve business objectives and expected results for application implementation.
• Ensure delivery of business realisation benefits through application features aligned to testing procedures.
• Analyse defects and test results to identify areas of concern within software.
