We are seeking a Junior Site Inspector – Civil and Rock Revetment Works to become part of our site-based team at the Bacoor Reclamation and Development Project in between the Cavitex highway and Bacoor City, Metro Manila, Philippines, overseeing the construction of a landmark reclamation project. What you do as a Junior Site Inspector – Civil and Rock Revetment Works

The junior site inspector will report to the Engineer’s Representative at site. The Inspector will focus on the preparation for and construction of civil works and sloped rock revetments. The general tasks and responsibilities will include, amongst others:

  • Inspect and monitor the quality and safety of construction works on site, including the placement of geotextile, preparation for and construction of rock revetments
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, and regulations, such as ACI, ASTM, and OSHA
  • Review and verify the accuracy of works according to drawings, plans, and reports
  • Coordinate and communicate with the contractors, engineers, and clients to resolve any issues or discrepancies
  • Identify and report any defects, damages, or deviations from the project requirements
  • Recommend and implement corrective actions and preventive measures, such as repair, replacement, or reinforcement
  • Perform tests and measurements on relevant materials used for the construction
  • Document and maintain records of inspection activities and results, using forms, checklists, photos, and software
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly inspection reports, highlighting the progress, problems, and solutions of the concrete construction works

The project involves the dredging and reclamation works for the Bacoor Reclamation and Development Project (BRDP) in Bacoor, the Philippines. Haskoning is the engineer on the project and is supervising the dredging and reclamation works undertaken by a contractor based on a FIDIC Construct Only type of contract. You will become part of the BRDP Construction Management and Supervision team led by an international experienced Engineer’s Representative supported by 14 inspectors, surveyors and engineers. What you bring

As a junior site inspector, you will supervise the quality monitoring and progress of the works. For this position, you need to have the following competencies/skills:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or any other related course
  • 3 to 7 years' industry experience
  • Experience in rock revetment
  • Preferably experience working within an engineering consultancy
  • Quality and safety consciousness
  • Strong in record keeping
  • Analytical thinker and strong problem solver
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language (written and verbal)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player, versatile, and energetic
  • Adept at working in a digital way
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of applications, HSE reporting, and documentation
