A leading company in the Philippines is seeking a legal counsel responsible for negotiating contracts, advising executives, and managing legal compliance. The ideal candidate will have an LLB or Juris Doctor, with 2-3 years of experience and a solid understanding of corporate law. This role requires engagement with various legal matters, ensuring adherence to regulations while fostering strong internal and external relationships.
The position is responsible for providing assistance to the Department Head.
I. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Negotiates, writes, and reviews agreements and contracts;
Offers counsel on a variety of legal issues, particularly, those relating to ownership development and transfer of real property
Advises executives on contract status, legal risks and business terms of various deals
Provides assistance with joint ventures, strategic partnership deals, and mergers, and acquisitions;
Drafts and prepares other legal documents in relation to regulatory compliance or licensing
Researches unique legal issues impacting the organization by identifying applicable status, judicial decisions, and codes;
Performs pre-litigation work to minimize risks and maximize legal rights of the company;
Reviews advertising and marketing materials to ensure compliance with legal requirements
Transfers Title of raw land and acquisitions, DHSUD compliance, acquisition due diligence;
Preparation and review of pleadings, motions, memoranda, and briefs to be submitted to the courts or quasi-judicial agencies;
Attend and represent the company in all hearings of cases filed by or against the company;
Attends to mediations, arbitration, and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings involving the company
II. JOB QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate must be a graduate of LLB or Juris Doctor from a reputable law school or university
Must have at least 2-3 years of experience in general practice of law from a reputable law firm or as in-house counsel of a corporation
Must pass the Bar Examination and a member in good standing of the Integrated Bard of the Philippines (IBP)
Must be results-oriented, assertive, and able to work under pressure
With ability to demonstrate working relationships internally and externally
