Job summary

RippedBoxStation is seeking a Junior Data/ETL Tester to validate ETL processes and data pipelines. You will perform source-to-target data checks, ensure data quality, and assist in creating test plans and reports.

Responsibilities include defect logging, regression testing, and collaborating with ETL Developers, Data Engineers, and QA teams to understand data requirements. The role emphasizes adherence to QA standards and data governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in Software Testing, Data Testing, ETL Testing, or Database Support.
• Basic understanding of SDLC and STLC.
• Basic knowledge of ETL concepts, data warehousing, and relational databases.
• Familiarity with SQL for querying and validating data.
• Understanding of data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance concepts.
• Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or TestRail.

Responsibilities

• Execute test cases to validate ETL processes, data pipelines, and data warehouse solutions.
• Perform source-to-target data validation to ensure data is accurately extracted, transformed, and loaded.
• Verify data quality through completeness, accuracy, consistency, and integrity checks.
• Execute reconciliation testing to compare source and target datasets and identify discrepancies.
• Assist in preparing test plans, test cases, test data, and test execution reports for data validation activities.
• Log, track, and verify defects using defect management tools and support developers in defect resolution.
• Validate bug fixes and perform regression testing for ETL processes and data workflows.
• Collaborate with ETL Developers, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and QA teams to understand business rules and data requirements.
• Assist in documenting test results, data validation procedures, and quality metrics.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Follow QA standards, data governance policies, and testing best practices.
• Escalate testing issues, data inconsistencies, and risks to senior QA team members when necessary.
