Job summary

Axos Bank is seeking an entry-level data tester to join the shared pool. Under guidance from a Senior engineer or Data QA Lead, you will execute defined tests, learn practice standards, and progress toward an Intermediate level.

You will write and run SQL, document results in Azure DevOps, assist with test data preparation, and participate in daily scrums while completing onboarding and certification tracks in SQL, Python and Databricks.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years in QA testing, data analysis, or related role; fresh graduates welcome.
• Working SQL: joins, aggregation, filtering, basic reconciliations.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow test procedures precisely.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to learn Python, data warehouse concepts, Databricks.
• Ability to work in an agile team and meet commitments.

Responsibilities

Job Description

• Execute assigned data validation, regression and source to target tests following practice templates and standards
• Write and run SQL queries to verify row counts, reconciliations, transformations and data quality rules
• Document test results and defects in Azure DevOps with clear evidence; retest fixes
• Support test data preparation and environment readiness checks
• Run assigned automated regression checks and report results
• Participate in backlog refinement and daily scrum for the assigned team; ask clarifying questions on scope and expected results
• Complete the practice onboarding programme and certification track, including SQL, Python and Databricks fundamentals
• Use AI/LLM-powered tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) under guidance to accelerate test case drafting and query review, validating output before use

Required Key Knowledge Skills/ Experience

• 0 to 2 years in QA testing, data analysis or a related technical role; fresh graduates with strong SQL are welcome
• Working SQL: joins, aggregation, filtering and basic reconciliation queries
• Attention to detail and ability to follow test procedures precisely
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to learn Python, data warehouse concepts and Databricks
• Ability to work in an agile team and meet commitments

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to Python, ETL/ELT concepts or a data warehouse
• Exposure to Azure DevOps or equivalent tooling
• ISTQB Foundation certification
• Internship or project experience in banking or financial services

Education requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field
