Blue Alliance is a global environmental organization focused on managing and strengthening large marine protected areas and the blue economy. The organization oversees more than 3 million hectares of coral reef marine protected areas in partnership with governments and coastal communities in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Tanzania. Blue Alliance develops sustainable aquaculture, fisheries, ecotourism, and blue carbon enterprises to alleviate poverty among local fishers and generate income for marine conservation. By 2050, the organization envisions 3,000,000 local fishers earning sustainable incomes and a quarter of once-threatened coral reefs thriving with life. Blue Alliance addresses interconnected challenges in climate, biodiversity, food security, and economic development.
