Job summary

Sealed Air Corporation in Manila is seeking a Junior Accountant to support supply chain accounting activities for assigned business units and regions. You will assist with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and inventory accounting.

The role collaborates with Supply Chain Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Plant Controllers, Procurement, and Logistics to ensure accurate close and strong internal controls. Onsite in Makati three days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy required.
• CPA or registered Cost Accountant designation preferred.
• 0–2 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, inventory, cost, logistics, supply chain accounting, shared services, or general accounting.
• Internship or prior experience supporting month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, inventory accounting, or cost accounting preferred.
• Familiarity with SAP preferred; experience with OneStream, Power BI, inventory systems, or costing systems is a plus.
• Interest in manufacturing, procurement, logistics, distribution, or supply chain accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support recurring month-end close activities, including journal entry preparation, accrual support, account analysis, close schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare assigned balance sheet reconciliations for supply chain accounting balances, including inventory, inventory in transit, freight accruals, logistics-related accounts, and other supply chain accounting balances.
• Assist with investigation of accounting variances involving inventory valuation, purchase price variance, freight, standard costs, and other supply chain accounting accounts.
• Prepare recurring supply chain accounting reports, including inventory reports, cost reports, logistics accounting reports, and variance support.
• Escalate unusual items, reconciling differences, or data issues to senior team members or Accounting leadership.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to Accounting leadership, the Junior Accountant, Supply Chain Accounting Support is responsible for supporting Manila-based supply chain accounting activities for assigned business units and regions. The role supports the Accounting organization by assisting with month-end close activities, journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, inventory accounting support, standard cost accounting support, logistics and freight accounting support, and other recurring supply chain accounting activities.

The Junior Accountant partners with Supply Chain Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Plant Controllers, Procurement, Logistics, and other cross-functional stakeholders to support timely financial close, accurate inventory valuation, strong internal controls, and standardized accounting processes. This role is expected to execute recurring accounting tasks accurately, elevate issues appropriately, and build foundational knowledge in supply chain accounting processes.

Responsibilities

Supply Chain Accounting Operations

• Support recurring month-end close activities, including journal entry preparation, accrual support, account analysis, close schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare assigned balance sheet reconciliations for supply chain accounting balances, including inventory, inventory in transit, freight accruals, logistics-related accounts, and other supply chain accounting balances.
• Assist with investigation of accounting variances involving inventory valuation, purchase price variance, freight, standard costs, and other supply chain accounting accounts.
• Prepare recurring supply chain accounting reports, including inventory reports, cost reports, logistics accounting reports, and variance support.
• Escalate unusual items, reconciling differences, or data issues to senior team members or Accounting leadership.

Inventory & Cost Accounting

• Support standard cost and inventory accounting activities, including standard cost updates, inventory reserve support, inventory adjustments, and inventory reconciliations.
• Support accounting activities related to freight, warehousing, procurement, inventory movements, and inventory valuation.
• Assist with accounting review of standard costs, inventory valuation, purchase price variance, freight accounting, and other supply chain accounting activities under guidance from senior team members.

Controls & Compliance

• Support compliance with accounting policies and internal controls for assigned supply chain accounting processes.
• Support internal and external audit requests by preparing documentation and responding to information requests with guidance from senior team members.
• Maintain accurate support documentation for assigned journal entries, reconciliations, and close activities.

Stakeholder Partnership & Process Support

• Partner with Supply Chain Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Plant Controllers, Procurement, Logistics, and other stakeholders to support timely financial close.
• Support documentation and standardization of recurring supply chain accounting processes.
• Identify basic process improvement opportunities and elevate ideas to senior team members or Accounting leadership.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy required.
• CPA or Registered Cost Accountant designation preferred.
