Qualifications

Role & Responsibilities Overview
  • Work on end-to-end analytics assignments involving data extraction, manipulation, transformation, validation, reporting, insight generation, and business problem solving.
  • Gather, understand, and translate business requirements into analytical approaches, reporting outputs, dashboards, and actionable recommendations.
  • Manipulate and analyze structured and semi-structured data from multiple sources using SQL, Python, Redshift, Power BI, Excel, and similar tools to create analysis-ready datasets.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, outliers, drivers, and business opportunities across functions such as operations, finance, claims, underwriting, customer, or portfolio performance.
  • Build and maintain recurring reports, dashboards, KPI scorecards, and self-service reporting assets using Power BI.
  • Develop clean, validated, and reusable reporting datasets by applying data joins, transformations, business rules, aggregations, reconciliation checks, and quality controls.
  • Generate insights from data and convert analysis into clear business narratives, storyboards, presentations, and recommendations for client and internal stakeholders.
  • Apply practical data science techniques, where relevant, such as segmentation, trend analysis, regression, classification, forecasting, anomaly detection, model monitoring, or driver analysis to solve business problems.
  • Support development of automated reporting workflows, data pipelines, and analytical solutions to reduce manual effort and improve reporting accuracy and timeliness.
  • Work independently on analytical problem statements, define the right analysis steps, validate assumptions, and proactively identify data quality or logic issues.
  • Collaborate closely with client teams, EXL teams, data engineers, BI developers, and business stakeholders to ensure analytical outputs are accurate, relevant, and decision-ready.
  • Facilitate client working sessions, present findings, support project status discussions, and help translate data outputs into business actions.
  • Manage day-to-day delivery of assigned workstreams, monitor progress of deliverables, and ensure timely resolution of issues or blockers.
  • Identify process inefficiencies, reporting gaps, automation opportunities, and areas where analytics or data science can improve business outcomes.
  • Ensure industry best practices are followed across data preparation, reporting, documentation, quality checks, and analytical solution delivery.
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, data manipulation, or applied analytics roles.
  • Strong hands‑on experience in SQL, Python, Redshift, and Power BI for data extraction, manipulation, analysis, reporting, dashboarding, and validation.
  • Experience working with Power BI to develop dashboards, KPI scorecards, management reports, and insight-driven visualizations.
  • Ability to connect Power BI to different data sources, including Redshift, import and transform data, create data models, define measures, and build user-friendly business views.
  • Proficiency in data preparation activities such as joins, aggregations, filtering, data cleansing, data profiling, reconciliation, exception analysis, and source-to-target validation.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to frame business problems, break them into analytical hypotheses, conduct exploratory analysis, and identify key drivers or root causes.
  • Demonstrated ability to extract insights from data and convert analysis into structured storyboards, executive summaries, business recommendations, and stakeholder presentations.
  • Working knowledge of data science concepts such as statistical analysis, regression, classification, clustering/segmentation, forecasting, anomaly detection, or model performance evaluation.
  • Hands‑on exposure to Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit‑learn, Matplotlib/Seaborn, or similar is preferred for data manipulation, analysis, and basic modeling.
  • Experience in automating recurring reports, improving reporting processes, or building reusable analytical datasets is preferred.
  • Good understanding of data warehousing, Redshift-based data environments, data models, metric definitions, reporting layers, and business rules used in analytics and BI environments.
  • Ability to perform root-cause analysis on data issues, reporting discrepancies, metric movements, and business performance changes.
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to validate outputs, reconcile numbers, document assumptions, and ensure consistency across reports and dashboards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain analytical findings to both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Self‑driven, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment with limited supervision.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional and cross‑cultural teams across geographies.
