Job summary

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a proactive Full-Stack Software Developer to support our retail solutions portfolio. You will design and implement backend logic, APIs, and security controls while shaping scalable architecture and robust database design.

You will balance on-site and remote work with three days in the office or at a customer site and two days from home, adapting to project needs and timelines.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing backend logic and API endpoints.
• Strong focus on security: authentication, authorization and input validation.
• Familiarity with microservices, caching, queues and scalable architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend logic, RESTful APIs, or GraphQL endpoints.
• Implement business logic, data processing, and security mechanisms.
• Handle authentication, authorization, and access control (JWT, OAuth2).
• Prevent vulnerabilities (XSS, CSRF, SQL Injection).
• Design scalable backend architectures (microservices, monoliths, event-driven).
• Implement caching, load balancing, and message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Ensure code follows SOLID principles and best design patterns.
• Design and optimize relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) or NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases.
• Write efficient queries, stored procedures, and ORM integrations.
• Ensure data consistency, integrity, and performance tuning.
• Monitor and improve server performance and application responsiveness.
• Implement profiling tools and asynchronous programming where needed.

We are seeking a highly motivated Full-Stack Software Developer to join our team and support the retail solutions portfolio for TGCS.

Core Responsibilities:

API Development, Integration and Security Implementation

• Design and develop backend logic, RESTful APIs, or GraphQL endpoints.
• Implement business logic, data processing, and security mechanisms.
• Handle authentication, authorization, and access control. (JWT, OAuth2)
• Prevent vulnerabilities (XSS, CSRF, SQL Injection)

Server & Application Architecture

• Design scalable backend architectures (e.g., microservices, monoliths, event-driven).
• Implement caching, load balancing, and message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Ensure code follows SOLID principles and best design patterns.

Database Design and Management

• Design and optimize relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) or NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) databases.
• Write efficient queries, stored procedures, and ORM integrations.
• Ensure data consistency, integrity, and performance tuning.

Performance Optimization

• Monitor and improve server performance and application responsiveness.
• Implement caching, load balancing, and message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka). Use profiling tools and implement asynchronous programming where needed.

Work Arrangement:

Under normal circumstances, you will be expected to work either at our office or on a customer site 3 times a week, with the flexibility to work from home twice a week.

However, depending on the project phase, you may be required to:

Work on-site at the customer’s project location for the entire week.

Work outside of standard office hours based on project needs.
