Job summary

OPEN INNOVATION INC. is seeking a Java developer to design and implement robust applications and RESTful services. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams across the SDLC, write tests, and ensure code quality through design patterns and best practices.

The role emphasizes hands‑on development with Spring Boot, SQL databases, and CI/CD pipelines, while encouraging learning of new technologies and collaboration with DevOps and QA teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience in Java application development
• Strong knowledge of Core Java, OOP, and Java development principles
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and web services
• Hands‑on experience with Spring Framework / Spring Boot is preferred
• Experience working with SQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server
• Knowledge of Hibernate/JPA or other ORM frameworks is an advantage
• Experience with Git or other version‑control systems
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Experience with unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of design patterns, clean code, and software development best practices
• Understanding of API integration and third‑party system integration
• Knowledge of CI/CD, Docker, cloud platforms, or DevOps practices is an advantage
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with developers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and project managers
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and development tools

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java applications and RESTful services
• Collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps, and PMs to deliver solutions
• Participate in SDLC activities and Agile ceremonies
• Write unit tests and perform debugging to ensure software quality
• Apply design patterns and best practices to deliver clean code
• Integrate with third‑party systems and APIs, and work with CI/CD pipelines
