Job summary

Manulife/John Hancock is seeking a Risk Governance & Oversight Specialist to join the GWAM Information Risk Management team. You will support governance, KPI tracking, vulnerability management, and strategic change initiatives, translating findings into management reporting and dashboards.

You will monitor controls, collaborate with stakeholders, and help automate governance processes using AI where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Ability to collect, reconcile, analyze, and report complex data with high accuracy.
• Excel experience with pivot tables and data analysis; Power BI or similar BI tools.
• Interest in automation and responsible use of AI to improve processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain risk/tech info in business terms.
• Consulting, decision-making, influencing and stakeholder-management abilities.
• Organizational and time-management skills; manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently in a global team and adapt to changing tech.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Support governance and oversight across information risk, KRI, vulnerability management, and change management.
• Translate risk/standards into actionable requirements and monitor controls.
• Monitor vulnerability scanning, asset health, remediation progress and reporting.
• Analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends and gaps.
• Develop metrics, reports, Power BI dashboards, and data-flow diagrams.
• Communicate status, risks, issues, and remediation to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with teams to assess risk and support timely remediation.
• Provide guidance on security controls, compliance expectations, and governance processes.
• Maintain policies and governance docs to support audit readiness.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve governance and reporting.
