Job summary

Aurecon Group is seeking an IT Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of global internal technology initiatives, with a primary focus on Connectivity. You will translate business outcomes into governed delivery plans, align stakeholders and technical teams, and ensure readiness for operations.

You will manage complex initiatives or multiple projects, driving governance, budgets and risk management while delivering value across Aurecon's global business.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of IT project management or delivery experience.
• Delivery experience in enterprise networking, Connectivity or related infrastructure.
• Strong governance, budgeting, risk management and reporting capabilities.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methods and cross-functional teamwork.

What will you do?

The core purpose of the IT Project Manager role is to lead the end-to-end delivery of global internal technology initiatives, with primary focus on Connectivity. The role turns agreed business outcomes into well-governed delivery plans, aligns stakeholders and technical teams, and ensures solutions are ready for operational support.

The role may manage one complex initiative or several concurrent projects and product changes, depending on scale, risk and delivery priorities.

Stakeholder Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with business, technology, and vendor stakeholders.
• Drive alignment on objectives, priorities, scope, decisions, and delivery outcomes.
• Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and decisions in a clear and timely manner.

Governance & Control

• Establish and maintain appropriate project governance, reporting, and delivery controls.
• Manage project plans, budget, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests.
• Ensure required approvals, stage gates, and operational readiness activities are completed.

Core Delivery

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved within agreed scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors, and dependencies to deliver successful business outcomes.
• Drive proactive risk management, issue resolution, and escalation to maintain delivery momentum.
• Ensure solutions are successfully transitioned to support with clear ownership and documentation.

What can you bring to the team?

• 5-7 years of experience in IT project management or a closely related delivery role.
• Demonstrated delivery experience in enterprise networking, Connectivity or broader technology infrastructure.
• Practical knowledge of project delivery methods, with experience in Agile/Scrum environments and structured governance frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder, communication, facilitation, influence and negotiation skills.
• Experience managing integrated plans, budgets, resources, risks, dependencies, vendors and delivery reporting.
• Ability to work effectively with dispersed technical teams and explain complex delivery matters clearly to business stakeholders.
• Experience supporting procurement, supplier selection, contracts or vendor performance is desirable.
• Exposure to cloud, virtualisation, hybrid hosting or data-centre rationalisation is desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business or a related field. PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile certification is preferred, or actively being pursued.

Essential skills and experience

Initiatives may be local, regional or global and may involve a single technical workstream or multiple interdependent workstreams delivered across business locations, cloud platforms, infrastructure teams and external suppliers. Examples include:

• Enterprise network transformation, including internet-first operating models, SD-WAN change, LAN standardisation and private WAN reduction.
• Cloud edge and secure access initiatives using technologies such as the Zscaler suite, Azure networking and network access controls.
• Network segmentation and identity-based access control across branch offices, data centres and cloud environments.
• Connectivity components of office deployments, relocations, upgrades, data-centre rationalisation and hybrid hosting modernisation.
• Complex migrations or cutovers requiring tightly managed sequencing, cross-squad dependencies, vendor coordination, change approvals and service continuity.
