Job Title: Inventory Associate

Department: Warehouse Operations

Reports To: Inventory Supervisor

Job Summary

The Inventory Associate is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring proper stock management within the warehouse. This role plays a critical part in minimizing discrepancies, supporting efficient order fulfillment, and ensuring that all inventory movements are properly recorded and aligned with company processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Inventory Accuracy & Control

• Maintain accurate inventory levels across all SKUs in the warehouse
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly
• Ensure proper documentation of all stock movements (inbound, outbound, returns, adjustments)

2. Receiving & Put-Away Monitoring

• Verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documents
• Ensure items received are in good condition and match system records
• Oversee proper labeling, tagging, and bin location assignment
• Ensure stocks are stored following FIFO/FEFO standards (especially for pet food and perishable items)

3. Stock Movement & System Updates

• Accurately encode all inventory transactions in the system
• Monitor stock transfers, pull-outs, and returns to ensure proper recording
• Coordinate with fulfillment team to ensure correct picking quantities

4. Warehouse Organization

• Maintain organized and clean storage areas
• Ensure proper product placement to avoid damage and misplacement
• Support implementation of inventory control procedures and best practices

5. Reporting & Coordination

• Prepare inventory reports (variance reports, aging reports, near-expiry items)
• Coordinate with purchasing and sales teams regarding stock levels and discrepancies
• Flag slow-moving, damaged, or near-expiry products

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field (preferred but not required)
• At least 2 years experience in warehouse or inventory management
• Experience with inventory systems (ERP/WMS) is required
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong accountability and discipline in following processes
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
• Problem-solving mindset for identifying root causes of discrepancies

Working Conditions

• Primarily warehouse-based role
• Requires physical activity such as walking, lifting, and handling products
