Job summary

RecruitGo is seeking an Intermediate Australian Accountant to join our remote team in the Philippines. The ideal candidate has Australian accounting experience, is proficient with Xero, understands Australian tax and GST, and can support audits and financial reporting with accuracy.

You will maintain records, reconcile accounts, prepare timesheets to invoice clients, and collaborate with senior accountants while working independently within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of Australian tax and GST.
• Minimum of 1 year Australian accounting experience.
• Broad accounting concepts: AR/AP, payroll, reconciliation, reporting.
• Strong English communication.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Proficiency in Xero.
• Honest, reliable, and proactive.
• Experience in audit and assurance; Caseware.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining, evaluating, and compiling records of financial transactions of the client in computerized accounting systems.
• Keeping financial records, maintaining and balancing accounts using a computerized accounting system.
• Ensuring complete working papers are maintained.
• Preparing timesheet to raise invoices to clients for jobs to be finalized and delivered.
• Ensuring timeliness and quality of delivery of job orders to clients.
• Supporting senior accountants and management with any accounting, tax compliance, and bookkeeping tasks.
• Attend weekly workflow meetings.

Position Overview

This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional with Australian accounting experience who is confident in Xero, Australian tax and GST, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and ready to work independently while collaborating with a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining, evaluating, and compiling records of financial transactions of the client in computerized accounting systems

Qualifications

Must-Have

• Basic understanding of Australian tax and GST (mandatory)

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Australian accounting, tax, and audit

• Well-rounded understanding of accounting concepts such as accounts receivable & payable, payroll, reconciling & financial reporting

• Great communication skills in English

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills

• Proficiency in cloud accounting systems (Xero)

• Honest, reliable, and proactive

• Experience in audit and assurance as well as proficiency in Caseware

• Can work independently and collaboratively in a team

Nice-to-Have

• Degree in Accounting and/or CA or CPA qualified

• Proficiency in cloud accounting systems (MYOB and QuickBooks)

• Salary Range: PHP 35,000 to PHP 45,000 (depending on experience)
