Lavasource is an HR technology consultancy helping organizations improve the way they select, implement, integrate and use HR and workforce technology.
We are building our internal technology capability so that we can take greater ownership of our platforms, develop reusable solutions and offer new technology services to our clients.
Integration will be a central part of that capability. We are therefore looking for an experienced Integration Lead who can deliver integrations today while helping us build a scalable, client-facing integration practice for the future.
The role
The Integration Specialist will own the development of Lavasource’s integration capability.
Initially, you will design and build integrations between Dayforce, SAP, other HCM systems and a range of third‑party platforms. These could include payroll, finance, benefits, identity management, recruitment, time and attendance, learning and other enterprise systems.
You will also work across Lavasource’s own technology landscape, improving how our platforms exchange data and automating internal processes.
This is a hands‑on role. You will be expected to design solutions, work with APIs, build integrations, diagnose problems and support deployments. However, the opportunity goes beyond individual projects: you will define our integration standards, create reusable assets and help turn this capability into a service that Lavasource can offer to clients.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, test and support integrations between Dayforce and third‑party systems.
- Develop integrations involving SAP and other enterprise HR, payroll, finance and workforce platforms.
- Work with REST and SOAP APIs, webhooks, middleware, file‑based interfaces and secure data‑transfer methods.
- Build integrations and workflow automations using tools such as Zapier, Workato, Boomi, MuleSoft, Azure Logic Apps, Power Automate or comparable platforms.
- Translate business and data requirements into practical integration designs.
- Manage data mapping, transformation, validation, reconciliation and exception handling.
- Diagnose integration failures and resolve issues across multiple systems and suppliers.
- Ensure integrations are secure, resilient, supportable and appropriately documented.
Capability leadership
- Define Lavasource’s integration architecture, standards and delivery approach.
- Establish appropriate development, testing, release and support processes.
- Create reusable connectors, templates, data mappings and implementation accelerators.
- Develop monitoring, alerting and operational support arrangements.
- Maintain clear technical and client‑facing documentation.
- Select the most appropriate integration tools for different client and internal requirements.
- Help recruit, manage and develop additional integration specialists as demand grows.
- Provide technical leadership to consultants, developers, clients and external delivery partners.
- Help shape a commercial integration service that Lavasource can offer to clients.
- Support discovery sessions and assess clients’ existing integration landscapes.
- Design solutions and contribute to proposals, estimates and statements of work.
- Explain technical options, risks and trade‑offs clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to standardise and reuse solutions across clients.
- Support sales conversations and act as a credible integration subject‑matter expert.
- Help develop integration services that generate repeatable, scalable revenue.
Experience and capabilities
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong hands‑on experience designing and delivering enterprise integrations.
- Practical experience integrating HR, payroll or workforce‑management platforms.
- Experience with Dayforce integrations, APIs, data exports or related integration tooling.
- Experience integrating with SAP, ideally including SAP SuccessFactors, SAP HCM, S/4HANA or associated finance and workforce systems.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, SOAP services, JSON, XML, CSV, webhooks, SFTP and authentication methods such as OAuth 2.0.
- Experience using at least one enterprise integration or iPaaS platform.
- Familiarity with lighter automation tools such as Zapier or Power Automate.
- Good understanding of data mapping, transformation, validation and reconciliation.
- Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- An understanding of integration security, access controls, encryption and data‑protection requirements.
- The ability to move comfortably between architecture, hands‑on delivery and client conversations.
- Strong problem‑solving, documentation and stakeholder‑management skills.
Particularly valuable
The following would be advantageous:
- Dayforce integration certification or substantial experience in the Dayforce ecosystem.
- Experience with Dayforce Integration Studio, web services, reporting and data‑export capabilities.
- SAP integration experience using technologies such as SAP Integration Suite or APIs exposed through SAP systems.
- Experience with Workato, Boomi, MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of HR and payroll data, including employees, positions, organisations, time, pay, benefits and recruitment.
- Experience developing packaged connectors or reusable integration products.
- Previous experience in a consultancy, systems integrator or managed‑services environment.
- Experience estimating, scoping and commercially packaging integration work.
- Experience establishing or leading an integration team or centre of excellence.
What success looks like
Within the first six months, you will have:
- Assessed Lavasource’s current and planned integration requirements.
- Defined our integration architecture, standards and preferred toolset.
- Taken ownership of priority Dayforce, SAP and internal integration work.
- Established development, testing, documentation and support processes.
- Reduced reliance on external suppliers for routine integration delivery.
- Created the initial set of reusable integration components and templates.
- Developed a clear proposition and delivery model for client integration services.
- Produced a practical plan for growing the capability as client demand increases.
The person we are looking for
You are a builder as well as a leader. You enjoy solving complex integration problems but also recognize the importance of standards, documentation and repeatability.
You are comfortable starting with a relatively blank sheet of paper. You can make pragmatic technology choices, deliver working solutions and gradually establish the structure needed for a larger capability.
You communicate clearly, take ownership and understand that a successful integration is not simply one that works technically—it must also be secure, supportable and valuable to the client.
Why join Lavasource?
This is an opportunity to create something rather than inherit it.
You will have the freedom to shape Lavasource’s integration approach, influence our technology strategy and build a capability that becomes an important part of our client proposition. You will work across HR technology, enterprise systems and emerging automation tools, with the potential to build and lead a wider team as the service grows.
