Job summary

Energy Development Corporation is seeking an experienced Insurance Manager to lead the design and implementation of the company’s insurance program for insurable risks, ensuring coverage on commercially reasonable terms and aligned with corporate risk management.

You will oversee claims handling, policy administration, annual risk surveys, and related seminars, coordinating with insurers, brokers, and internal teams to strengthen resilience across all facilities and contracts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of work experience related to insurance
• Knowledge of market trends, customers, business processes, technology and organizational culture as they affect the business
• Knowledge of the business continuity management system and the ability to implement the various aspects of business continuity management across the organization to ensure the company’s resilience
• Providing and analyzing figures, data and business results, including financial modeling projections, budgeting and strategic planning

Responsibilities

• Manages the establishment and implementation of an effective insurance program for the Company’s insurable risks on commercially reasonable terms
• Manages and reviews expert advice on projects, contracts and other transactions as they relate to insurance, risks and related matters
• Oversees the implementation and administration of key insurance policies of the Company
• Manages the Company’s insurance claims with coordination from insurers, reinsurers, brokers, adjusters and consultants
• Oversees annual risk surveys across all facilities conducted by insurers’ risk surveyors
• Oversees orientations and seminars on insurance policies, terms and claims handling

Job description

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Manages the establishment and implementation of an effective insurance program for the Company’s insurable risks on commercially reasonable terms, as a key risk transfer tool and in accordance with EDC’s risk management program;
• Manages and reviews the expert advice provided on projects, contracts and other transactions as they relate to insurance, risks and related matters;
• Oversees the implementation and administration of key insurance policies of the Company;
• Manages the Company’s insurance claims to ensure that claims are promptly notified, filed, documented, adjusted, settled and paid. This includes close coordination with internal resources as well as external parties such as the insurers, reinsurers, brokers, adjusters and consultants;
• Oversees the annual risk surveys across all facilities that are conducted by the insurers’ risk surveyors.
• Oversees the conduct of appropriate orientations and seminars, as needed, on insurance policies, terms and conditions and claims handling

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Management, or Legal-related course
• Minimum of 10 years of work experience related in insurance
• Utilizes knowledge and understanding of market trends, customers, business processes, technology and organizational culture as they affect the business.
• Knowledge of the business continuity management system and the ability to implement the various aspects of business continuity management across the various functions of the organization to ensure the company’s resilience
• Providing and analyzing figures, data and business results considering all their facets. Performing financial modeling projections, defining budgets and building strategic plans, on the basis of these analyses
• Knowledge of risk management principles and tools
