Job summary

Suburban Cook County Online Application Consortium in Cebu City seeks an instructional aide to support teachers and instructional programs. You will work with individual students or small groups to help meet classroom objectives and utilize available resources.

The role requires a minimum high school diploma, paraprofessional licensure, and preferred teaching credentials or experience. You will assist with materials prep, behavior management, PBIS, and supervise during drills and transportation

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
• Paraprofessional Educator Licensure
• Teaching Certificate Preferred
• Teaching Experience Preferred

Responsibilities

• Executes instructional activities with individual students or small groups following teacher direction
• Assists students in special education and general education classes and environments
• Assists in preparation of materials for class, classroom activities, assignments, location of supplementary materials from school library and other resources areas
• Implements behavior management programs designed by teachers and/or school psychologist
• Counts and records specific student behaviors; administers procedures in the positive behavior support plan (PBIS)
• Monitors student use of instructional equipment
• Provides general maintenance of equipment including cleaning and disinfecting
• Serves as a source of information and help to substitute teachers
• Maintains confidentiality of student information as expected in classrooms
• Assists students with transportation and during emergency drills
• Assists with student use of equipment
• Assists with activities of daily living for students
• Monitors health-related issues and student well-being
• Observes and intervenes to redirect inappropriate behavior
• Guides students to pay attention and complete tasks
• Establishes productive working relationships with staff and community
• Manages multiple tasks and prioritizes effectively
• Identifies areas of concern and proposes solutions
• Communicates effectively
• Exhibits initiative and decision-making to reschedule work as needed
