Job Summary

The Mason is responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures using materials such as concrete, bricks, blocks, and stones. The role involves performing masonry work according to project specifications, drawings, and safety standards to ensure the quality and durability of construction projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Masonry Work

• Lay bricks, concrete blocks, and stones according to construction plans and specifications.
• Mix and apply cement, mortar, and other construction materials.
• Construct walls, partitions, pavements, and other masonry structures.

2. Surface Preparation

• Prepare surfaces before laying bricks or blocks.
• Measure and align materials using levels, squares, and other tools.

3. Repair and Maintenance

• Repair cracks, damaged structures, or defective masonry work.
• Perform plastering, finishing, and patching of surfaces.
• Estimate and request necessary construction materials.
• Ensure proper use and minimal wastage of materials.

5. Safety Compliance

• Follow all construction safety procedures and company policies.
• Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).

6. Coordination with Team

• Work closely with helpers, carpenters, and other construction workers.
• Follow instructions from the Site Supervisor or Project-in-Charge.
