Job summary

Coronis Health in the Philippines is seeking a Medical Coder to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes across inpatient and other patient types. You will analyze records, determine principal and secondary diagnoses, and produce accurate billing information under CMS and clinical guidelines.

The role requires 3+ years of inpatient hard coding and the ability to query providers for documentation improvements while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in medical records or related field.
• Minimum 3 years inpatient hard coding experience; 6 months with a client.
• Certification requirements depend on client engagement (e.g., CPC, CIC, CCS).

Responsibilities

• Abstracts, codes, sequences medical and surgical procedures, diagnoses, and treatments.
• Reviews documentation to determine principal/secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Assigns ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS codes per specialty and DRG when applicable.
• Writes compliant queries to improve documentation and coding accuracy.
• Enters codes into encoder/abstracting system and extracts required data.
• Monitors productivity and informs supervisor of daily issues.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
