Job summary

Coronis Health Philippines is seeking a Medical Coder to join our coding team. Under supervision, the coder assigns ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes to patient records to support accurate billing and reporting.

The role may specialize by service type and requires adherence to CMS and AHA guidelines while maintaining high-quality productivity. The position requires a Bachelor’s in Medical Records or allied field, at least 3 years inpatient hard coding experience, and relevant certifications;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Medical Records or related field.
• Minimum 3 years inpatient hard coding experience.
• Certifications such as CPC, CCS, CCS-P or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Abstracts, codes, and sequences ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS for inpatients, outpatients, and professionals.
• Review provider documentation to determine diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign principal and secondary diagnoses, CC/MCC, and determine DRGs and coding compliance.
• Write compliant queries to improve documentation and coding.
• Enter codes into encoder/abstracting systems and extract required data.
• Report productivity and daily issues to supervisor.
• Identify areas of concern with improper coding and documentation.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
