Job summary

Primus @Knowledge Specialist Inc. in Cubao, Quezon City, Metro Manila is seeking a Design Engineer to join the Mechanical Engineering team. This full-time role focuses on translating concepts into detailed mechanical designs and robust drawings.

You'll use CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to develop designs, run analyses, and support manufacturing. Collaboration with product managers, QA, and manufacturing will be essential to meet project timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of engineering standards, codes, and regulations relevant to mechanical design.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Experience with product design or project management is advantageous.
• Knowledge of quality assurance and continuous improvement methodologies would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical designs and technical drawings using CAD software.
• Conduct feasibility studies and preliminary design assessments for new mechanical systems and components.
• Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses to validate design concepts and ensure structural integrity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure designs meet project requirements and timelines.
• Review and evaluate prototype performance, identifying areas for improvement and optimisation.
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and design justifications.
• Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations for cost reduction and process improvements.
• Support the manufacturing and testing phases by providing technical guidance and resolving design-related issues.
• Stay current with industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies in mechanical engineering.
