Job summary

MicroSourcing is seeking an Information Security Specialist to join our onsite team in Pasay City. You will investigate incidents, monitor events with SIEM, assess risks, and support third-party security and governance.

You will have 3–5 years in Cyber Security Operations, strong Microsoft security and Azure expertise, and excellent communication across technical and business teams. Onsite role with shifting schedule and competitive rewards including healthcare coverage from day 1.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in IT, CS, or Cyber Security.
• 3–5 years in Cyber Security Operations, GRC, third-party security, or related area.
• Strong understanding of security controls, risk management, and incident response processes.
• Experience with SIEM, Microsoft security technologies, and Azure IaaS/PaaS.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across technical and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Investigate cybersecurity incidents with MSSPs, perform root-cause analysis, support containment, remediation, and recovery.
• Monitor security events and alerts using SIEM platforms and Microsoft security tools to detect suspicious activity.
• Assess cybersecurity risks across ICT projects, digital initiatives, and operations, supporting governance and compliance.
• Conduct security assessments for third-party vendors and new technologies, addressing identified risks.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity documentation, awareness programs, and incident response playbooks.

Your Role

As an Information Security Specialist, you will:

• Investigate cybersecurity incidents alongside managed security service providers, performing root cause analysis and supporting containment, remediation, and recovery activities.
• Monitor security events and alerts using SIEM platforms and Microsoft security technologies to detect suspicious or malicious activity.
• Assess cybersecurity risks across ICT projects, digital initiatives, and business operations while supporting governance and compliance requirements.
• Conduct security assessments for third-party vendors, supply chain partners, and new technologies, ensuring identified risks are addressed promptly.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity documentation, awareness programs, operational procedures, and incident response playbooks while promoting security best practices across the organization.

What You Need

Non-negotiables

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Cyber Security Operations, Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), Third-Party Security, or a related cybersecurity function.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, security controls, and incident response processes.
• Experience working with SIEM platforms, Microsoft security technologies, and Microsoft Azure IaaS/PaaS environments.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.

Preferred Skills/expertise

• Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, Microsoft AZ-500, AZ-305, SC-200, or SC-300.
• Knowledge of ISO/IEC 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), ACSC Essential Eight, and Australian Privacy legislation.
• Experience supporting security audits, compliance, governance, and assurance activities.
• Experience working with Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs), outsourced IT providers, and third-party risk management.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview, Agile delivery environments, and a strong commitment to continuous learning in emerging cybersecurity technologies, automation, and AI-enabled security solutions.
