The Information Management (IM) Lead is responsible for developing and implementing IM strategy to promote the efficient management of information across the business by using policies and technology to collect, process and condense traditional and emergent information that is produced. The goal of this role is to add structure and context to content so that it can be leveraged to increase its value, minimize the potential risk of data-quality issues to maximize efficiency and re-use and to ensure IM compliance requirements are monitored and reported accurately.
Responsibilities
- Develops, owns & implements Information Management strategy and is responsible for identifying opportunities to deliver value to the business through both the implementation of Information Management solutions and the harvesting of existing Information Management assets to enable the achievements of business strategy, value drivers and KPIs.
- Identifies and delivers bottom-line value to the business through the implementation of innovative new IM solutions, and harvesting of existing IM assets to enable business strategy delivery, value drivers and KPIs.
- Ensures that business information requirements (as dictated by business processes) are fulfilled. Has clear understanding of how Information flows through the business, what is needed to facilitate the Information flow and the impact this has on business specific metrics and KPIs.
- Provides guidance and leadership on IM compliance requirements and ensures IM compliance monitoring and controls are in place, are applied within the Business/Functions and are reported to key stakeholders.
- Builds up Information Management capability within their respective business. Ensures compliance with the Information Management manual, data privacy and other Information-related laws and regulation and supports the business in gaining more awareness around IM.
- Informs and manages the flow of Information and supports their respective business through delivery of IM specific tools and applications and provides best practice support to enable an enriched end-user experience and maximize the functionality of Information Management tools deployed.
- Is aligned and up to date with strategic Information Management steer from peers in other businesses/organizations. Creates and improves the reusability and standardization of developed applications, leads by example and continues to look for opportunities to add business value through IM.
- Champions and advocates Information Management best practice within the business and helps the business in gaining more awareness around Information Management.
Core Skills
- Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Computer Science or related field or comparable business experience.
- Understanding of Information Management Policy Development and Implementation, Information Architecture, Data Strategy and Governance, Data Lifecycle and Data Quality.
- Training in the basics of database management systems including storing and extracting data in relational database systems and modelling real-world problems.
- A firm grounding in objective classification systems, taxonomies, metadata and archival practices.
- Knowledge of the legal and compliance aspects of information management including GDPR, security, privacy, intellectual property and digital governance.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively to translate complex business needs and/or problems into IM solutions and influence stakeholders to change ways of working.
- Experience in building business cases and solid statistical analysis capability.
Technical Skills
- Expert knowledge of and experience with IM tools and technologies including SharePoint, cloud-based IM technology, O365, e-discovery, open text, Documentum, unstructured data analytics and implementing metadata frameworks.
- Is familiar with Robotics Process Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain and Machine Learning and the benefits these technologies can bring to Information Management processes.
- Deep understanding and experience of how to use analytics, forecasting, trends analysis and proactive monitoring to improve Information Management processes.
- Able to provide guidance and support to ensure compliance on data privacy (GDPR) and Trade Controls and other similar regulations.
- Understand the different risks, format, controls & processes management of Physical & Electronic records.
Job Experience Requirements
- Significant experience (+10 years) in developing and managing Information Management strategies and initiatives in the oil and gas industry.
- Track record in delivering value, from opportunity identification to delivery, dealing with unknowns and taking decision with incomplete set of information.
- Expertise in developing and architecting Information Management solutions in a collaborative environment, as well as significant experience in multiple computing and cloud environments.
- Experience in managing and working with Information Management repositories and modeling tools.
- Significant experience managing solution delivery and managing third parties.
- Experience in creating a compliant and data-driven culture and enabling behavioral change.
- Experience with working in Agile projects.
