Avensys Consulting is seeking an experienced Application Lead specializing in IBM IMS Database. You will serve as the SME, guide the team, and drive delivery across complex mainframe environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with IBM IMS Database.
• Expert knowledge of IMS database structures: DBDs, PSBs, PCBs, DL/I.
• Strong mainframe experience with z/OS, COBOL, JCL, DB2, or VSAM.
• Experience in IMS database design, performance tuning, monitoring, backup, recovery, and reorganization.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex database and production issues.
• Proven track record leading technical teams and collaborating with cross-functional groups.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the IMS Database SME and lead the application development and support process.
• Manage the team, assign technical priorities, and make key application and database decisions.
• Design, review, and optimize IMS database structures and application solutions.
• Troubleshoot critical production incidents and implement long-term resolutions.
• Coordinate with multiple teams to ensure smooth delivery, deployment, and system performance.
• Promote best practices for application design, database management, security, and compliance.
