Job summary

Manulife/John Hancock in Manila is seeking a software engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable business applications across the full SDLC, with a focus on Power Platform and AI expansion.

You’ll collaborate with product owners and engineering teams, apply CI/CD and security best practices, and contribute to prototyping and continuous improvement in a hybrid, on-site three-days-per-week setup at the Quezon City office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1–2 years of software development experience.
• Willing to rotate and work 3x a week onsite in Quezon City.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and at least one modern language/framework.
• Experience with Power Apps/Power Platform with interest in AI/web development.
• Understanding of APIs, databases, data modeling, OOP and cloud basics.
• Familiarity with source control, debugging, secure coding, CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable business applications across the full SDLC.
• Build front-end interfaces, back-end services, APIs, databases, and integrations.
• Develop solutions using Power Platform and explore AI and modern web development.
• Write clean, testable code; perform unit/integration tests; review code.
• Collaborate with product owners and engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Apply CI/CD, DevSecOps, source control, documentation, and security standards.
• Participate in prototyping and investigations to reduce delivery risk and improve processes.
