Job summary

First Circle seeks a General Counsel to oversee legal, compliance, AML, data protection, and corporate governance across the group. The role combines strategic advisory with hands-on execution in a fast-paced fintech environment.

You will build and lead a small legal team, advise on market expansion and product initiatives, manage regulatory relationships, and ensure timely SEC filings and robust corporate housekeeping across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant legal experience, with meaningful startup/fintech exposure
• Experience serving as, or closely with, a Corporate Secretary
• Strong background in compliance, AML, and data privacy regulatory frameworks
• Ability to lead a legal team and drive cross-functional initiatives

Responsibilities

• Provide general legal advice for operational and strategic matters
• Oversee compliance across the group and expansion projects
• Supervise AML function and maintain AML policy framework
• Handle data protection matters and ensure NPC compliance
• Lead special projects and corporate housekeeping
• Build and lead the legal team across subsidiaries and affiliates
• Balance commercial objectives with legal best practices in a fast-paced environment
