Qualifications

• Professional qualification in Health and Safety or Environmental Management

About the role

FRONTKEN Philippines Inc. is seeking a dedicated HSSE and Compliance Officer to join our team in Calamba City, Laguna. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, security and environmental standards across our operations are maintained to the highest levels. As HSSE and Compliance Officer, you will be instrumental in protecting our workforce, preserving our environment and ensuring adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements. This role is essential to our commitment to operational excellence and responsible business practices within the mining, resources and energy sector.

What you'll be doing

• Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive HSSE policies, procedures and programmes across all operational areas
• Conduct regular health and safety audits, inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues
• Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental and local regulatory requirements applicable to mining, resources and energy operations
• Coordinate and deliver HSSE training programmes to employees at all levels, ensuring competency and awareness
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all HSSE-related activities, incidents and corrective actions
• Liaise with government agencies, regulators and external stakeholders on HSSE and compliance matters
• Monitor environmental performance and implement measures to minimise environmental impact
• Develop and maintain emergency response and crisis management procedures
• Report on HSSE metrics and performance to senior management and relevant stakeholders

What we're looking for

• Professional qualification in Health and Safety, Environmental Management or related discipline (e.g. OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 certification)
• Minimum 5 years' experience in HSSE and compliance roles, preferably within mining, resources, energy or similar industrial sectors
• In-depth knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation applicable to the Philippines and international standards
• Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and hazard identification processes
• Proven experience in conducting workplace inspections, audits and investigations
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present HSSE information clearly to diverse audiences
• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective training programmes
• Strong organisational and documentation skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with HSSE management systems
• Problem-solving capability and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing compliance gaps
• Preferred experience in emergency response coordination and crisis management planning
