This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of labor relations, including employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and adherence to Philippine labor laws. Concurrently, the role will lead the full recruitment cycle to meet the restaurant's staffing needs efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Labor Relations
Employee Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee relations matters, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Grievance Handling: Administer and manage the employee grievance procedure, ensuring fair and timely resolution of employee complaints and concerns.
Disciplinary Action: Conduct investigations into employee misconduct, prepare and issue disciplinary notices (e.g., Notice to Explain, Notice of Decision), and ensure adherence to due process in accordance with Philippine labor laws (e.g., DOLE guidelines).
Policy Implementation & Compliance: Ensure all HR policies, procedures, and practices are compliant with the Labor Code of the Philippines and relevant DOLE regulations. Stay updated on changes in labor laws and advise management accordingly.
Conflict Resolution: Mediate and resolve workplace conflicts and disputes between employees or between employees and management.
Employee Engagement: Support initiatives to promote employee engagement, morale, and retention.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records of all labor relations cases, disciplinary actions, and employee complaints.
Recruitment
Manpower Planning: Collaborate with department heads (e.g., Head Chef, Bar Manager, FOH Supervisor) and the HR Manager to assess current and future staffing needs and develop effective recruitment plans.
Job Description & Sourcing: Develop compelling job descriptions and utilize various recruitment channels (online job portals like JobStreet, LinkedIn, social media, professional networks, university partnerships, and internal referrals) to attract qualified candidates in the Metro Manila area.
Candidate Management: Oversee the entire recruitment lifecycle from candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection. Conduct initial interviews and assist hiring managers in their selection processes.
Applicant Tracking: Manage and maintain the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or recruitment database to ensure an organized and efficient recruitment process.
Onboarding Support: Coordinate with the HR Assistant for a smooth onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they are properly oriented to the company culture, policies, and their roles.
Employer Branding: Contribute to building and promoting the restaurant's employer brand to attract top talent in the competitive hospitality industry.
Recruitment Metrics: Track and analyze recruitment metrics (e.g., time-to-hire, cost-per-hire) to identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Psychology, Law, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, with a significant focus on labor relations and recruitment, preferably within the hospitality, restaurant, or food & beverage industry.
Legal Knowledge: In-depth knowledge and practical application of Philippine labor laws (e.g., Labor Code of the Philippines), DOLE regulations, and other relevant statutes.
Working Conditions:
Primarily office-based within the restaurant premises in San Juan, Metro Manila.
May require occasional extended hours to address urgent employee relations matters or recruitment drives.
Interacts regularly with all levels of staff and management.
