Job summary

Chong Hua Hospital in the Philippines is seeking an experienced Safety Practitioner to ensure compliance with environmental, occupational health and safety regulations and to lead safety programs across the organization.

The role includes designing training, coordinating with departments, and driving improvement projects while ensuring timely renewal of licenses and permits in line with DOLE and other authorities.

Qualifications

• Preferably an Engineering graduate.
• Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Must be accredited by DOLE as a Safety Practitioner.
• Experience with accreditation bodies (OSHC-DOLE, DOH, Joint Commission International, ISO Standards), and knowledge of local/national regulations including Fire and Building codes.
• Has led significant improvement projects in relation to waste management.
• Strong leadership to engage stakeholders and drive business results.
• Solid implementation skills on government regulations and international standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops and conducts effective safety training programs for leadership and staff.
• Monitors and evaluates training programs for effectiveness and areas for improvement.
• Initiates and continually improves safety management programs and practices.
• Addresses barriers to safety program implementation and drives safety culture.
• Coordinates with departments to implement safety programs and promptly resolve safety issues.
• Leads cross-functional teams in delivering safety improvement projects.
• Facilitates organizational change to improve safety programs and practices.
• Maintains licenses, clearances, and permits related to occupational health and safety regulations; ensures renewals.
• Acts as liaison to DOLE and keeps abreast of safety regulatory updates.
