Job Description

The Hospital Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the physical facilities, equipment, and systems of the hospital to ensure a safe, functional, and clean environment. This includes performing routine repairs, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance tasks. The worker will collaborate with various hospital departments to ensure the facility is operating smoothly and complies with health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other building systems.
• Ensure that all hospital equipment and machinery are functioning properly and conduct repairs or replacements when necessary.
• Respond to urgent repair requests and troubleshoot issues promptly.
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the hospital's surroundings, including public spaces, patient rooms, and staff areas.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels for maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with hospital health and safety regulations, including infection control standards.
• Assist with preventive maintenance schedules for Hospital systems, generators, and other critical hospital infrastructure.
• Report and document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections in accordance with hospital policies.
• Work closely with department heads to address facility-related issues and ensure minimal disruption to hospital operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor or facility manager.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification in building maintenance or related field preferred).
• With NC II certification
• Proven experience in building maintenance, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and reporting.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot various types of maintenance issues.
• Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and working in various environments.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with hospital staff and vendors.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability for on-call duties or emergency repairs, as needed.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to adhere to hospital regulations.
