• Sorting Linens: Separating soiled, contaminated, and clean linens; sorting by type (bed sheets, uniforms, gowns, towels, etc.).
• Washing and Drying: Operating industrial washers and dryers; using the right detergents and disinfectants; ensuring proper temperature settings for disinfection.
• Folding and Ironing: Neatly folding and sometimes ironing linens as required by the hospital.
• Distribution: Delivering clean linens to hospital wards and collecting used ones; keeping records of laundry inventory.
• Sanitation and Safety: Ensuring laundry area is clean and sanitized; following infection control guidelines to prevent cross-contamination.
• Report Issues: Notifying supervisors of damaged linens or malfunctioning machines.
