Job Description

Description

• Separating soiled, contaminated, and clean linens.
• Sorting by type (bed sheets, uniforms, gowns, towels, etc.).

Washing and Drying:

• Operating industrial washers and dryers.
• Using the right detergents and disinfectants.
• Ensuring proper temperature settings for disinfection.

Folding and Ironing:

• Neatly folding and sometimes ironing linens as required by the hospital.

Distribution:

• Delivering clean linens to hospital wards and collecting used ones.
• Keeping records of laundry inventory.

Sanitation and Safety:

• Ensuring laundry area is clean and sanitized.
• Following infection control guidelines to prevent cross-contamination.

Report Issues:

• Notifying supervisors of damaged linens or malfunctioning machines.

Requirements

• At least a high school graduate (some hospitals may accept high/senior graduates or undergraduates
• Preferably with experience in laundry services, especially in healthcare settings.
• Training or background in handling soiled and contaminated linens is a plus.
