About the role

Manila Waldorf School, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Science Teacher to join our secondary education team. This is a full-time position based in San Mateo Rizal. As a High School Science Teacher, you will play a vital role in nurturing scientific curiosity and critical thinking in our students whilst delivering engaging, inquiry-based science education. This position is integral to our commitment to holistic education and the development of well-rounded learners who understand the interconnectedness of science with nature and society.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging science lessons that align with Waldorf pedagogical principles and secondary curriculum standards

• Create a supportive and stimulating learning environment that encourages student inquiry, experimentation and discovery

• Conduct practical laboratory sessions and demonstrations to enhance conceptual understanding of scientific principles

• Assess student progress through formative and summative assessment methods, providing constructive feedback to support learning

• Develop and maintain detailed records of student achievement and educational progress

• Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to integrate science with other subject areas and foster interdisciplinary learning

• Participate in curriculum development and review to ensure science education remains current and relevant

• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and areas for development

• Contribute to the wider school community through participation in school events, field trips and festivals

• Support the Waldorf philosophy of educating the whole child, integrating artistic, practical and academic dimensions into science teaching

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and / or Geology

• Demonstrated experience teaching science at secondary level, with proficiency in laboratory safety and practical experimentation

• Excellent communication skills; Proficiency in English

• Having science laboratory management is a plus
