You will assist with repairs, manage tools and workspace, perform basic maintenance, and support tire and wheel work. Qualifications include a high school diploma or TESDA NC II and a strong willingness to learn and work

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist senior mechanics with repairs and installations on heavy and light trucks.
• Prepare tools, diagnostic equipment, and materials for repairs; maintain a tidy, safe workspace.
• Support tire and wheel maintenance, including removal, replacement, and rotation.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance such as oil changes and fluid checks under supervision.
• Assist with on-road fleet rescues and quick field repairs when needed.

About the role

A Helper Mechanic for Heavy and Light Trucks plays a vital role in keeping transport and logistics fleets running safely. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to build a hands‑on career in the automotive and trucking industry, offering a direct path to learning advanced mechanical skills from experienced technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting with Repairs: Helping senior mechanics remove, repair, and install heavy vehicle parts, including brake pads, wheel bearings, and light/heavy engine components.
• Tool & Workspace Management: Preparing the correct tools, diagnostic equipment, and materials before a repair job begins. You will also clean and maintain the shop to ensure an organized, safe working environment.
• Tire & Wheel Maintenance: Assisting with the heavy manual labor of removing, replacing, and rotating massive truck and trailer tires.
• Preventative Care: Performing basic automotive maintenance under supervision, such as changing oil, replacing air filters, checking batteries, and topping off fluids.
• Fleet Rescues: Assisting with on-road emergency vehicle troubleshooting and quick field repairs when trucks break down away from the garage.

About you

• A high school diploma or vocational school equivalent
• Vocational certification such as a TESDA NC II in Automotive or Heavy Equipment Servicing
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods, work in tight spaces, and repeatedly lift heavy equipment or parts weighing up to 60-75 lbs
