JOB DESCRIPTION:

The truck helper supports the truck driver in transporting and delivering goods. Responsibilities include assisting with loading and unloading, ensuring cargo is properly secured, and helping with various on-the-road tasks to facilitate smooth delivery operations.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Loading and unloading goods from the truck.
• Ensure that cargo is securely and properly loaded to prevent damage during transport.
• Verify that the cargo matches the delivery paperwork and check for any discrepancies.
• Help in arranging and organizing the cargo in the truck to maximize space and ensure safety.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the truck and equipment.
• Assist in navigating routes, providing directions, and helping with parking and maneuvering if needed.
• Communicate effectively with the driver, dispatchers, and customers regarding delivery status and any issues encountered.
• Handle paperwork related to deliveries, including delivery receipts and logs.
• Follow all safety protocols and assist with securing the vehicle and cargo during stops.
• Perform basic vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues to the driver or relevant.
